Baby Snider: Week 8

Baby Blog

How Far Along:  8 weeks

Maternity Clothes: No

Best Moment This Week: Our ultrasound last Friday! It was amazing to see the little flicker of a heartbeat. Even though Uno just looked like a little bean, it was awesome to get our first look (and pictures) of him or her.

Size and Development:  Baby is the size of a raspberry, and actually weighs something - about .04 ounces. He/She is also starting to move around!

Gender: Don’t know.

Movement: None

Food Cravings: Spicy, salty, and carbs – specifically Mexican food.

What I Miss: Coffee/Caffeine – I get decaf coffee drinks, but their just not the same.

Sleep: Pretty good.

What I am looking forward to: My parents are coming to town this weekend, and it’s the first time we’ll see them since being pregnant. I’m excited to show them the ultrasound pictures and talk about Uno.

Symptoms: Tiredness, some cravings, and I got a cold. Not sure if this is a symptom, but since I’m pregnant and can’t take cold medicine, there’s not a whole lot I can do about it.

Baby Snider: Week 7

Baby Blog

How Far Along:  7 weeks

Maternity Clothes: No

Best Moment This Week: Telling more friends, and having our first doctor’s appointment this week. It was just blood and paperwork, but it was good to get the ball rolling, medically.

Size and Development: He/She is the size of a blueberry. Arms and leg joints are forming!

Gender: Unknown

Movement: None

Food Cravings: Salty things and carbs. Sometimes, I want fruit and veggies, but mainly I want salty things.

What I Miss: Nothing yet.

Sleep: Pretty good. Except, if I wake up to pee, I often can’t fall back to sleep because I’m hungry or my mind gets going.

What I am looking forward to: Our first ultrasound on Friday at CAPS.

Symptoms: Hunger, a little nausea, sore boobs, tiredness.

Baby Snider: Week 6

Baby Blog

How Far Along: 6 weeks

Maternity Clothes: Nope

Best Moment This Week: Telling our parents that we’re pregnant! We sent bibs to my parents and siblings and Chris’ parents to open and surprise them. We told my mom it was an early Mother’s Day gift. She opened the box and said, “No! Are you serious?!” Then everyone started screaming! We were Face Timing, so we recorded it all. The next day we Face Timed Chris’ parents. We told his dad it was a late birthday gift, and that his mom’s early Mother’s Day gift was in there, too. They were shocked when they opened the box. Mom started crying and Dad was all smiles. Then Mom asked if she could start shopping now.

Gender: Don’t know – but we are calling him/her Uno, since this is the first grand baby on both sides of the family. Plus, we already have Ace.

Movement: None.

Size and Development: Uno is the size of a sweet pea – super tiny! Uno is beginning to develop his/her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.

Food Cravings: None. Just hungry all the time.

What I Miss: Nothing yet.

Sleep: Good. I often have to pee in the night, but I’ve always gone to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I’ve been waking up earlier, though, because my mind starts thinking about the baby and gets all excited that I can’t sleep.

What I am looking forward to: Telling everyone about the baby. We’ve told family and close friends, but I can’t wait to tell more friends and go public with the news!

Symptoms: Exhaustion! I’m tired all the time. I’m emotional, although this comes in waves – and it literally just hits me out of nowhere. I’m hungry most of the time, so I eat a lot of small meals all day. I have some mild cramping and occasional stomach aches, and my breasts are sore. Overall, though, I feel really good.

Baby Blog...Begin!

Hello Friends and Family.

It has been quite a while since I've blogged on here. Well here's a quick update...We're Having A BABY!!! More specifically, we're having a baby GIRL!

We are so excited about this next chapter in our lives! We can't wait to meet her and start this new adventure with our daughter!

Since week 6 of this pregnancy, I've been writing blog entries, but just not posting them. Now, I'm going to start posting them (starting with week 6), so you can read about how the pregnancy is going.

My hope is to post about other things - life preparing for the baby, special moments between now and the birth, and other aspects of our life. But the weekly posts allow me to give a peek into the pregnancy and keep everyone up to date.

As of today, I'm halfway through the pregnancy. Part of me is amazed that we're already half way there, and the other part of me is like, "we're only half way there?!" Hahaha. It's all good though. I have had a relatively easy and healthy pregnancy so far, so I'm ok that we still have 4.5 months to go.

Thanks for catching up with us, and I hope you enjoy hearing all about Baby Girl Snider!

Love,
Chris, Lauren, & Baby Girl (aka Uno)
